i miss my cello

cellomusettechris emailed me today. it's the usual "hi, how's work, how's life, i rode my motorcycle five thousand miles today and then i went dancing and pittsfield sucks." i never really know what to make of these emails. in many ways they are terribly impersonal, but i suppose that's ultimately appropriate since we're more or less activity partners, and only when i'm in an area that's convenient for him. this must also explain why he never calls me, even though it's a local call for him. well, since he distrusts women and i distrust men, i suppose we'll probably never get over the communication wall that separates us over the phone and via email. sometimes you just have to give up.
i'm really tired, i feel like giving up on being awake...i was up until midnight fucking around with this Tshirt i dismembered so it would go well with my vinyl pants, and then i had light shining on my face at 5am and couldn't go back to sleep. i think i deserve a nap. next week is the previous tech's last week, and after that i'll be totally alone in the lab for a week while everyone is in LA at a C. elegans conference. i wish i could get a free trip to California. nonetheless, the peace and quiet will be nice and it'll give me a chance to inact an inventory system for lab supplies in this place.
i still really can't believe i actually live in this city. i can't believe i'm in Somerville and not Framingham or Providence or Pittsfield. this is one of those places i used to travel out to visit when i had nothing to do. therefore, i'm thinking that if i start complaining of boredom, someone should give me a nice hard kick in the ass.
and i do miss my cello...goddammit...it's still in Pittsfield. hopefully i'll get it next weekend.
