Foodie goodness.
Jun. 25th, 2005 01:05 pmA couple of weekends ago, I was perusing the books over at
bethr's place and got my nose into the newer edition of the Moosewood Cookbook. I love the old edition, which belongs to my mother, and the new edition has reduced the fat of the recipes, added new recipes, and includes beautiful full-color pictures.
Well, there's something about me that many people don't know. Whereas I am not a vegetarian and I love a good steak from time to time, I am much more talented with vegetarian cooking than I am with meat preparation in general. (This is slowly changing, but historically, I really have a way with vegetables.)
Right now I'm obsessed with this cookbook. I want to make all the summer recipes while I have access to all the fresh veggies and fruits of summer. I want to make a big dinner and feed a bunch of my friends. I'm picking out what my favorites are---once I figure out a list, I will probably spam people with it and see what everyone likes.
Another thing I'm looking for is a collection of recipes for utilizing fresh watercress. I seem to have an addiction to greens in general, and watercress is one of my favorites.
Meanwhile, I think I'm making chilled berry soup again today...ooooh, yummy.
