my hair isn't pink at all anymore. it's almost white. i can see the social effects of it already. a 50-something guy came up to me in Dunkin Donuts today and said "i love your hair, it's so sexy." eww, leave me alone. this is why i got rid of the white-blond 3 years ago, because men old enough to be my dad were hitting on me. if only it had this same effect on men in the 20-35 year-old age bracket. if it does, no one's telling me.

thanks to Rebecca, who gets a purple heart for going way beyond the call of roommate duty, my stuff is finally, completely out of the old place. phew. she even came in with me and kept me company while i got the last of my things together. she must have excellent karma by now if she's this great all the time.

we made a brief visit to And/Or. mike gave me a hug. he smelled really good. yum.

i think i have a subset of avoidant personality disorder.
i think my father does too, and that his case is significantly worse than mine.
this would explain why i never hear from him. he was so anxious to not hear from anyone that he had his phone disconnected recently.

i also think it's gene-related. it's the most indelible mark he left on my personality. really, if i split my personality percentage-wise between Mom and Dad, i'm at least 75 percent Dad. this is despite the fact i was raised by Mom and have only met Dad about 10 times in my entire life.

recently i tried to re-establish contact with him. obviously, it hasn't worked yet. it's a near-impossible feat, since we're both so fond of running.

they also say women are attracted to men who are like their fathers. that means i'm drawn to unavailable men. do the logical math, and you end up with someone who
avoids dating and prefers unavailable men

yeah, the statistics are against me there.
