question for the masses...
Jun. 1st, 2002 09:49 pmwhen you're putting out a personals ad just for the hell of it ( because it's FREE)...what exactly counts, in the realm of body types, for "average" versus "a few extra pounds"? how much is a few? in general, i consider myself to be in the "extra" category, but just barely. i've had about six guys email me who had profiles listing them as "a few extra pounds" and all i can see in their pictures is fat cheeks and facial hair. they look like unshaven squirrel heads atop marshmallow bodies. i, on the other hand, can still wear vinyl pants and look good. can i use that as a criteria to call myself "average"?
honestly, if i had to compare myself to a visually recognizable celebrity, i'd say i look more like Kelly Osbourne than anyone else on TV. we have the same body type. what category does she fall into?
*experiment time!*
furthermore, i just changed my profile the other day to incorporate a better picture and list mySELF as average and cut out the "few extra pounds" category from my match profile (since so many of the users are too liberal with that term, in my opinion).....and my result was that i've gotten twice as many emails in ONE DAY than i received in the past TWO WEEKS under "a few extra pounds". what a bunch of shit, huh?
