R.I.P. Mildred Shmulsky AKA Myrtle. My maternal grandmother passed August 13, 2021.
There's so much more to this story but I'm utterly used up and exhausted and can't keep repeating myself....
There is a hole in the world now....

Thank you so much for your condolences, B. I fell out of habit with the LJ/Dreamwidth journal application and just saw this now…Mom is still fighting with her dark triad sibs over the estate and taking it out on me. If I played you a recording of her tantrums aimed at me you probably wouldn’t be able to listen to more than 20 seconds without a migraine. She’s like a vicious dog and somehow doesn’t grasp that she’s hurting me in a deep and permanent manner. She needs to be locked up.

No worries at all. Hey it’s really good to hear from you!! My FB entries had been getting too long for the format and I hated the Facebook vibe. I’m more of a TikTok/Instagram person. There’s a lot to be said for the video format.
There was a big dramatic teary apology this morning. She refuses accountability, claiming she’s too fragile to handle any. Screw that. I’ve been granite most of my life and the reward is people expect me to just keep doing it in perpetuity. I’m allowed to have boundaries and protect myself. I shouldn’t have to give her gold stars for basic decency.
How’s lifey life?? What chat clients do you use these days/ how do you prefer to chat? Sorry I lost track of you…. things got weird after breaking up with Simon, I had these friends who were way too normal for me and they eventually ejected me from the group. They could tell I had the volume down. I also have an unofficial PhD in narcissism and abuse tactics :-D I think this thing even has an app or something o.O Ttys!

Life is. I'm still living in the same place. I'm working as a customer support engineer for a medical device company these days. Not much in the way of a social life and COVID pretty much killed off whatever was left. Haven't seen any live music since 2019. Seems to me going to a crowded bar or club is a good way to get COVID.

Ny and I are still together ... we got really good at chatting over Skype during 2020.

I wasn't a huge fan of FB, but someone told me it was where "that crowd" had migrated, so I got on. I got off in 2018. Most of my feed was people posting political stuff, outrage at the latest thing that the Orange Menace did. Having that much anger in my life isn't good for my mental health even if I agree with the point of view being expressed. I may have to get back on, apparently it's the preferred venue for selling/buying automotive related stuff these days and I have some parts for cars that I no longer own that I need to get rid of. Also I'm currently car shopping and people keep sending me links to stuff on FB Marketplace. Feh.

I don't do TikTok or Instagram.

I don’t go out to places with a bunch of unmasked people…just asking for trouble. I get infections of all kinds too easily, I’d rather not get long haul Covid because I was bored. Not worth it, you know? I’m still in Pittsfield but I’m trying to get a place in Gt Barrington which is a much nicer location.
