That was a nice day.
I headed out to Davis at 11:45, and stopped at Someday Cafe for an iced boiler. I saw Willy, and he said "it's been a long time! Welcome back!" Then, stop at Family Dollar. And yay, they had all the household items I'd been needing to get. Since I was meeting
anotherjen for a movie at 1pm, I didn't buy anything, except for a yellow CareBear monkey....
I mean, it was plush and bright yellow. How could that not cheer me up? It was six bucks. Yes
bikergeek, you can take away my Goth Card for now. But when I find the monkey a black trenchcoat and an Uzi, you'd better give it back. :)
Then I met Jen and we went to Brooks for stuff---I needed conditioner, she needed moisturizer---and then we went to see Episode III at the Somerville Theater. I loved it, despite the presence of some damned cheesy dialogue, but I should go back and watch Ep I and II to get backstory.
Next I headed back to Family Dollar and got a Swiffer, some Simple Green, a broom, dish liquid, a dish wand, and light bulbs for the room with the funky window and the cool lighting. I also bought a light green candle and some fun socks. Then I went to McKinnon's for chicken, hamburger, lettuce and apples.
I went to go wait at the bus stop, and this older guy smiled and came over to talk to me. "I have to tell you, you have a beautiful smile," he says. I thanked him. He was average height, extremely tanned, muscular, and had very long greying hair. He looked vaguely Native American. He chatted with me until our bus came, then offered to help me carry my stuff onto the bus. "If I gave you my phone number, would you call me?" he asked. I looked at him in a not unkindly fashion and said, "well no, I think that would be kind of wierd." "I'm kind of wierd," he said, and then the subject dropped. I wasn't threatened or creeped out by him, just not interested, although I liked talking to him for some reason. I got off the bus at my stop and said "take care" and then went home and swept the kitchen, dining room and living room with my new broom.
So I shopped, saw old friends and acquaintances, saw a fun movie, and got hit on by a stranger. Not bad for a random Sunday.
Now I'm realizing that I've forgotten to eat all day. I think I'll make some eggs and toast.

For the record, you don't really have to watch Ep 1. All you have to do is listen to Weird Al's summary "The Saga Begins" using the tune to American Pie. Really. The whole movie is there and it only takes 5 minutes.
Everybody sing.... "Oh my my this here Anakin guy / May be Vader someday later - now he's just a small fry..."
