just when all hope had been lost, the roommie swooped down and carried me off to the Selkirk party in North Reading. i was watching "Adaptation" and having dinner, and then i was on my way to do something amongst other humans. hooray for roommates who like you! i got to hang out with [livejournal.com profile] hammercock and [livejournal.com profile] trowa_barton, which was very nice since i don't see either of them very often. (although i probably would if i left the apartment more frequently.) i like this social circle. "silly" doesn't really cut it as a description of what we are, but it's a start. being around these people, having a "tribe" if you will, kind of takes the edge off the stupid things in life. all i know is, they don't throw things at me when i do goofy dance moves---they join in. THAT'S important, man.

anyway, i'd already slept through most of the day, and this was a nice ending.

all right, now i'm just being a dork. at some point i need to leave the house and go to work, but it's impossible to motivate.

thought: perhaps i'm avoiding this because i know people are going to bug me about supply-ordering all day, even though the stockroom is closed and the professor's not around to approve any purchases?

i fantasize about an empty lab, where i can freeze my strains and put them in their rightful locations---in peace! yeah, that's totally it.
