(no subject)

here i am at work, early this morning. i took the first train in so i can get my DNA prep done today. although, it doesn't matter that much, since the needle-puller is broken...looks like i won't be doing any worm injections for a bit. but, by getting the DNA purified today, it'll make the postdoc happy, and that's always good.

jake's crashing at my place tonight so he can catch a flight tomorrow. yay, my first non-family overnight guest! it'll be fun; i haven't seen him since March, i think, and i finally live in a place that's truly worth visiting. i'm excited, although i didn't really clean my room the way i had wanted to. i was way too sleepy yesterday. i hope he doesn't mind.

Taurin is jealous of the social circles i've recently been travelling in. "those are my people," he says. i would like to think of a plan to import him here from Long Beach, at least for a visit. he should experience the Northeast. and the Northeast women. like me. i feel that, stereotypically, we make up for our Type A-ness with a certain lack of flakiness.

that's neat. it's true, i've been messing around with my guitar a lot lately; for about 10 minutes a day is the usual. but after picking it up no more than once a month for the past year, it's good to re-familiarize myself with it. i definitely need some new strings, it's true. i should con someone into going with me to Guitar Center in Natick so i can get a good deal on Elixer strings. Brendan definitely noticed my string problem when he tried my guitar a few weeks ago. it makes sense that they need replacing, since i bought the guitar three years ago and have NEVER replaced the strings. (Bad Hannah.) while i'm at it, maybe i can find a way to have my pickup fixed? it's an electric acoustic, but the pickup died many moons ago. sad.

i'm very sleepy. i'm still working on my midi prep, although it's already at the alcohol precipitation stage and being spun. it should be done by 2pm today. yay.
