May. 30th, 2003 08:20 pmphoom.
if i could invent a word and make it a part of my vocabulary, it would be PHOOM.
actually, i can do that.
so i will. but i have to define it first...shit, i have a ton to do. nevermind, i'll do it later.
*i have two ankle supports. (one for each ankle...because i have, umm, two ankles.) they help significantly...walking is a lot less painful.
*i did most of my day by myself today...it was nice. i enjoy working alone. it's a nice change of pace from "so whadya want me ta do next?"
*my severance check came in from ye olde jobb. i have over a grand to deposit into my account, and i have more than enough to pay June's rent right now. my god, if this keeps up i might actually learn what it's like to have money in my savings!!! not constantly checking the balance to make sure i can afford to buy milk this week! wiiiierd
*i move in tomorrow....UHaul fucked me over again, so we're borrowing someone's truck...it won't be great fun but i'll live
big thing!
*i got my pass for June. unlimited rides on the T, bus, and commuter rail (to Zone 2, anyhow). 94 bucks for all my travel expenses...unless i want to go to western mass, and that's about 70 bucks. but let's add this up:
T pass: $ 94.00
2 round trip Peter Pan fares: $140.00
_____________________________
TOTAL monthly travel expense: $236.00
let's look at what i used to spend, just to be boring....
car payment: $250.00
car insurance: $281.00
gas (estimated): $250.00
monthly oil
change: $ 30.00
____________________
TOTAL: $811.00
that's a savings of almost 600 dollars a month! over twelve months of the year, that's 7200 dollars saved.
i did just take a 4,000 dollar a year pay cut. in essence, i am still getting a raise. it's like getting a 3200 dollar raise.
so i'm thinking i actually made a GOOD decision this time!
i never really disliked boston, just framingham. there is almost no similarity between these two eastern mass experiences for me.
so now that i have all this money...i feel like i should go out and get hammered...i just wish i had someone to go with. i've heard they make great margaritas at the Border Cafe.
