Trying an LJ experiment.
Any entries I write that are [negative, depressed, grumpy, bitter] to blow off steam and process---I'll leave them up only temporarily, and then go back and mark them private.
To my thinking, this would put the focus on the positive, because the negative rant-y entries color and overpower the positive, happy ones if they're allowed to float around and present themselves to readers.
Keeping a journal can sometimes be like writing your own character. I have some level of control over how I experience life, and that control lies in how I write about it. If I write from the optimistic angle, I'm more likely to experience life in a positive way.
